I have been talking for a while now about getting a GPS running watch, but unless you are doing lots of running it seems a little excessive. Well i am now doing a marathon, so it seems like the only thing to do.
I ordered it on the 12th of May and it arrived on the 13th (well done Amazon).
My next run was not until today, so i have only just given it a short test. I ran the circuit i have been running for a week or so and it measured it at 1.5 miles (seems about right) and it gave me my average pace, calories burnt, time taken, etc, etc.
I have to say this is an amazing bit of kit and will be a good few weeks before i have had a chance to test and play with all of the functions.
I will post a second fuller review soon.
Can you tell me what benefits the GPS watch has, and how much it cost?
For me its just the ease of use, i dont have to plan my runs or work out distances in advance. I can just walk about the door (wait 2-4 mins for watch to find satellites) and then i am off.
Seems to be pretty acurate, and you can transport to pc to keep detailed logs of runs including maps etc etc.
Cost about £135 all in.
